The Adventures of Finn and the Treasure

John Finnegan Mulvey, age 5

Son of John & Melanie Mulvey

Grandson of Bill and Margaret "Pat" Mulvey

Copyright 2011

Written by Margaret, "For her grandson Finnegan, and all the children with Down Syndrome. My wish for you is both the opportunity and acceptance to experience life's adventures to the fullnest. With love Mimi." Margaret also wishes that all our Adventures through life be grand Adventures, both big and small, and always with a spirit of love and goodwill.

Note from Joe: I am always amazed by what we don't know - but should know - about our relatives. It is a shame that everyone has to live all over the country and have loss contact on a day-to-day basis. Use this Blog as a way of communicating.

Keep in Your Thoughts & Prayers

Some of your cousins have had recent medical issues, and it would be nice if you could keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Bill & Margaret "Pat" Mulvey

Bill will start radiation for prostate cancer on June 21st for eight weeks. Pat had surgery on her rotator cuff due to a fall, of all things on her birthday, March 13. Her therapy is going well. Pat's arm will be in a sling for six weeks. Neither Bill or Pat is sitting around nursing their wounds. In between therapy and radiation, they will be visiting son John and wife Melanie in Salt Lake City, for grandson Shane's 3rd birthday. Back home again until September, and than back to SLC for grandson Finn's 6th birthday. They also have a son Bill Jr. living in SLC. Bill and Pat were planning on attending the reunion before health issues arose.

Marianne Mulvey

Marianne was diagnosed with stage 4 bladder cancer in January. She has been in chemo for the past two months and will finish her last pre-op treatment on May 17. Surgery is planned but the surgeon wants to do further testing and biopsy work. It will be the end of June before we have more specifics on the surgery. This will be followed by more chemo. Marianne is doing well and is staying active, although she tires easy. She has a great support group with her family, relatives, and friends. Needless to say, she and Joe will not make the reunion as planned.

God Bless Your Cousin Elizabeth

RIP
September 18, 1955 to March 16, 2011

Your cousin Elizabeth Mulvey lost her valiant fight with cancer. She passed away in her sleep at the hospital in Dublin at 5:30 a.m.,
March 16, 2011. As you know from our reunion, Liz always had a smile and a kind word for everyone. She loved her family very much and enjoyed visiting with her relatives. It was a pleasure and a delight that she was able to make the Mulvey/Family Reunion in 2009 in Raleigh, North Carolina. Liz was a strong woman but of gentle heart. She gave unconditional love to all. She will be missed. Keep Liz and the Ballinwing Mulvey family in your thoughts and prayers. Now God holds her in the palm of His hand. Cards for Liz can be sent to the family via Bernadette at 81 Shandon Park, Phibsboro 7, Dublin, Ireland. Liz's reposing will be held at Bernadette's house until Friday, at which time her coffin will be transported to Carrick-on-Shannon for a viewing, and then on to Leitrim Town. Mass will be held on Saturday, followed by burial at Kiltoghert Cemetary.
