In response to the query of how long the house in Ballinwing has been in the Mulvey family. Having done some research I found that in the 1901 -1911 Census Of Kiltoghert Parish, a Barry family lived in this house in Ballinwing. Also during that period Catherine, James and Ellen Mulvey lived in Finisklin, Kiltoghert and moved to Ballinwing after 1911. The Mulvey family would be living there roughly 100 years.
Greetings from Bridie Farrell McGovern, daughter of James & Mollie Farrell Ballinwing. My best wishes to everyone and I hope you all have a wonderful reunion. I won't be travelling but I am sure I will be seeing some of you in the near future. In 1957 along with Aunt Bridie and James Mulvey I spent 8 months in New York. I stayed with the Doutney Family in Bay Ridge Ave, Brooklyn next door to the Mulvey (John) family. At that time I had the privilge of spending time with my 4 Aunts, Mary, Jane, Bridie and Tess. I have some wonderful memories of those 8 months. My father (James) and his brothers Willie and John never emigrated. I was married to Pat who passed away in 1997. I have 5 sons and 2 daughters. My 2 daughters and 3 sons live here in Ireland while my other 2 sons live in the States. I have 16 grandchildren which consists of 3 girls and 13 boys. My oldest grandchild Nicole who is 22 now lives in Australlia. My brother John James passed away suddenly in 2007. He emigrated to Birmingham, England in the late 1950's where he married Ann and they had 3 daughters and 3 sons. Ann and family still reside in Birmingham. I have some photographs which I would like to be included on the web page. My email address is gertrude@hotmail.com
