Greetings from Bernadette Farrell in San Francisco

Photo of my father John James Farrell (left) and his brother Willie Joe Farrell - sons of James and Mollie Farrell, Ballinwing. Taken in Leitrim Village 2006 at the celebration of Willie Joe and Mae's 40th wedding anniversary, sadly Dad died suddenly of a heart attack a few months after this photo was taken.

Dad grow up on the neighbouring farm to Mulvey's in Ballinwing with his brother Willie Joe, sister Bridie, parents James Farrell and Mary Doherty. Like so many of his generation he emigrated to England in the 1950's, but hardly a year went by that he did not go back "home" to Ballinwing to visit his family.
In Birmingham, England he met and married Ann Lynch and had six children.
My mother, all of my siblings, nieces and nephews still reside in Birmingham. I moved to San Francisco in 1990 and while I retain my European citizenship I became an American in 2000.
I have only recently discovered the blog and the link to the family tree and have so enjoyed exploring the connections with all of my cousins I here in the US
Unfortunately I will not be able to attend the reunion, but I wish you all a successful and happy event and I will look forward to seeing pictures on the blog.
