I think a lot of Mulveys have visited Glen Lake. We recently had an idyllic vacation at the Glenmore Lodge on Glen Lake. This was my first time back since a few family trips in the 1960's. My parents, John & Dorothy Donnelly met at Glen Lake. I'm happy to say that it is as beautiful as ever! The inside of the lodge has hardly changed a bit. We stayed in the Balsam cottage.
It looks the same inside!
My sons Peter & Matthew enjoyed it there.
The Mulveys had a camp on Glen Lake. I think this is it and this is Jimmy Mulvey in the 1950's. The sign on the porch says "Camp Weequaric." Who still goes to Glen Lake? Wouldn't it be the perfect place for the next reunion?
Eileen,
ReplyDeleteJeri and I have visited the Glen Lake area but never stayed there. I do remember my mother (Teresa Mulvey-Riordan) reminiscing about her childhood summer vacations in Glen Lake. There is a very lively watering hole nearby (The Full Moon Bar & Grill)should you find yourself in the area again.

Hi Steve,
ReplyDeleteI'll check it out - I hope to make many more trips there. I love the Adirondak area.

That camp was John Mulvey Jr camp my farther son of John and Mae Mulvey. We use to go there every summer till we moved to CA.I just came across some of my farthers and his farthers Mulvey pictures. I need help identifying some of the people and I have others that are clearly marked.
